Focal Points Art Gallery Seeks Strategic Partners and Investors
Focal Points Art Gallery is the reincarnation of TwoArtChicks Gallery, a local gallery that was closed in the fall of 2007 by its owner, who decided to liquidate his downtown real estate in preparation for retirement at the age of 82. Focal Points’ vision is to provide a distinguished, multifunctional venue for original artwork, fine crafts, live music, artist studios, classes, events and banquet space. Focal Points’ mission is to foster creativity, inspire emotional well-being, and promote self expression through proliferation of the arts throughout Greensboro. Focal Points Art Gallery serves two markets: area artists and the public. The advantage of serving both artists and the public is that the two markets fuel each other on a consistent basis and provide a solid network of artists, musicians, and clientele as well as a constant flow of ideas, events, and income. The creators of Focal Points were the directors of TwoArtChicks Gallery prior to its closing in the time that it blossomed from a less-than-profitable venture into a thriving arts venue. We are two women, an artist and a musician who recognize and experience Greensboro’s need for a space that serves the complex creative community of a city that is bursting at the seams with enthusiastic artists and art patrons.
Focal Points aspires to be the catch-all hub that the arts community in Greensboro needs. We are seeking strategic partners and investors in order to bring this vision to life. Recently our initial investor surrendered his place in the business for personal reasons, and it has become apparent that the fate of Focal Points depends on the community surrounding it. Focal Points has a solid business plan that incorporates five streams of revenue-producing products and services to ensure its financial success, a solid lease in a prominent downtown location, architectural and engineer plans that have been approved by the city, and all necessary permits to complete the construction that has already been started. We are in our final stages of preparation and have the potential to be open by November 2009 in time for the holiday season.
Focal Points will participate in Downtown Greensboro’s First Friday Art Stop Event on Friday July 3rd 2009 from 6pm – 9pm. We will have our business plan available for potential investors to review, tours of our partially constructed space, live music from Eating the Invaders, homemade hors d’oeuvres and desserts from Cheese Cakes by Alex.
